Personalized Treatment for Depression in Primary Care (RP1604F)
The Center for Depression Research and Clinical Care’s CME will provide an overview of the management of depression in a primary care setting. Moreso, the program will focus on the diagnosis of different subtypes of depression , progression towards personalized treatment, and the utilization of health information technology to screen and manage depression.
Target Audience
This CME activity is designed for primary care and mental health Physicians, Psychologists, Nurse Practinoners, Physician’s Assistants, Social Workers, and other professionals interested in the management and treatment of Depression in a primary care setting.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to link the education objectives to Core Competencies (Medical Knowledge and Patient Care) and be able to:
- Identify appropriate screening tools and assessments for depression giving regards to patient culture and socioeconomic factors in a primary care setting
- Implement Measurement Based Care using advances in health information technology
- Diagnose and manage patients with Bipolar Depression
- Identify and develop treatment plans for depression during pregnancy and post-partum periods
- Recognize metabolic causes involved in the pathophysiology of depression
