This program is designed to provide attendees with the latest updates on what's new in gastrointestinal disease. We will have an ethics presentation that will discuss how to identify various healthcare disparities in gastrointestinal disorders. Emphasis will also be placed on how to determine when to select medical therapy versus endoscopic therapy for Barrett's Esophagus, management of difficult inverventional cases, and how to recognize sysmptoms and use current data to establish diagnosis and formulate the appropriate treatment plan. The attendees will gain a better overall understanding of the newest treatment approaches for gastrointestinal disease and disorders as it is applicable to their scope of practice. 

 

Target Audience

This course is designed for gastroenterologists, GI surgeons, internists and family practice physicians with an interest in gastroenterology and heaptology.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this symposium, the participants should be able to:

  • Recognize the symptoms of eosinophilic esophagitis, establish diagnosis and formulate a treatment plan.
  • Determine when to select medical therapy vs endoscopic therapy for Barrett's Esophagus
  • Employ biologic therapies for refractory IBD including salavage therapy
  • Discuss management of difficult pancreaticobiliary interventional cases with an expert panel
  • Identify and utilize the newest approaches to the treatment of Hepatitis C
  • Recognize healthcare disparities in GI disorders
