Think About the Link® Dallas-Fort Worth Summit on HPV and Hepatitis (JS1705E)
This summit is designed for health care providers, public health professionals, and patient advocates with an interest in understanding the link between HPV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C and related cancers.
At the end of the activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe epidemiology of human papillomavirus (HPV), and apply current HPV guidelines and algorithms to improve patient vaccination rates, diagnosis of HPV infection, and post-infection medical management
- Identify the key factors that influence parents to decline appropriate HPV preventive care and learn ways to better communicate cancer prevention benefits of the HPV vaccine.
- Identify epidemiology of hepatitis B and hepatitis C, including high-risk groups; note the link of the viruses to liver cancer; discuss proven prevention methods for hepatitis B and know hepatitis C has a curative treatment
- Identify common and significant clinical problems for patients with hepatitis B and hepatitis C; describe ways a successful navigation system meets the needs of patients and examine ways to improve his/her own clinical practice's patient navigation system.
