This course is designed to address current strategies for glaucoma with an emphasis on comprehensive evaluation and medical treatment as well as minimally invasive surgical techniques.

Target Audience

The course is designed for practicing and academic ophthalmologists, residents and fellows in training, and other health care providers interested in a comprehensive update on the advances in medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to link the educational objectives to Core Competencies (Medical Knowledge and Patient Care) and be able to:

• Compare outcomes of treatment modalities in Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery
• Improve evaluation and management of narrow-angle and angle-closure glaucoma
• Discuss challenging glaucoma cases to improve treatment outcomes
• Identify a novel pathway involved in regulating trabecular meshwork (TM) and ocular hypertension
• Recognize systemic ocular abnormalities resulting from aniridia
