Nicole Khezri, BA
Nicole Khezri is completing her last year of medical school at the University at Buffalo and is actively involved in clinical neurology research. For the past thirteen years, she has worked in seven different research positions where she has performed independent research. Prior to medical school, Nicole worked in the field of regenerative medicine in which she directly converted cardiac fibroblasts to cardiomyocytes and reprogrammed pluripotent stem cells from skin biopsies of individuals with rare diseases to guide therapeutic strategy. She received her undergraduate degree from Duke University and completed an Intramural Research Training Award (IRTA) Fellowship at the NIH. Nicole has collaborated with world-renowned researchers, including the former CEO of Duke Hospital and the current president of the National Academy of Medicine and an Albert Lasker Award recipient.
