Matthew Kosemund

Matthew Kosemund is the High Fidelity and Disaster Training Team Lead. He has over 15 years of experience in medical simulation training, and patient care. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force, honorably discharged after serving 12 years as a Aerospace Medical Technician. The medical skills and knowledge he gained while in hospitals and deployed led to a career in education and training in the military. He brought that knowledge and passion to UT Southwestern in 2015 as the High Fidelity Simulation Operator for the Department of Surgery. His leadership and dedication to learner development has played a large role in the successful implementation of the Simulation Center on West Campus. He is an active participant in the Society for Simulation in Healthcare. His passions include: effective medical simulation that leads to safer patient care, team communication training, and medical simulator development/prototyping.
