CyberKnife Training Course (RP1911C-082719)
The UT Southwestern CyberKnife Physician Training course provides a comprehensive understanding of full body radiosurgery including patient selection and clinical applications. This course is geared towards the Radiation Oncologist. Experts will present the clinically relevant aspects of the CyberKnife including patient selection, fiducial placement, simulation, treatment planning, beam delivery with robot tracking technology and disease sub-site specific application. The course curriculum blends instruction on CyberKnife treatment planning/evaluation and treatment delivery with hands-on labs. These labs include practice with the treatment planning system as well as on the machine and treatment console.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of SABR and its indications for malignant disease sites
- Demonstrate technical proficiency in SABR for patient set up, simulation and treatment planning
- Demonstrate knowledge of appropriate treatment paradigms with respect to target doses and critical structure tolerance in patients undergoing SABR
