BRIEF BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH
Broc Sanchez, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC is a Nationally Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with The Dallas Veteran’s Administration Medical Center-Mental Health Homeless Program (Healthcare for Homeless Veterans) and PTSD Research, recently was at The University of Texas Medical Branch – Correctional Managed Care (Dallas County Jail System), and Private Practice in Dallas, Texas. In addition, he has been in the past an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at The University of Texas at Arlington School of Nursing and guest lecturer at Baylor University School of Nursing.
After completing his military service in the U.S. Army and being honorably discharged, Broc Sanchez earned two (2) Associate of Applied Science Degrees - the first was in Nursing at Central Texas College and a second at Mountain View College. He later obtain a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree from Western Illinois University; a Bachelor’s of Science Degree from The University of The State of New York at Albany; a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University at Dallas; a Master’s of Science Degree in Human Relations and Business from Amber University; a Master’s of Science Degree in Family Nurse Practitioner and Educator Role at Texas Woman’s University at Dallas and finally his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in Utah. After graduate school, he went on to complete a post graduate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program at The University of Texas at Arlington.
Broc Sanchez has over 40 years of experience working in not only psychiatry but also in community/public health, forensics, emergency and ambulatory care services with all age groups. He has worked in both Bipolar and Schizophrenic research at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder at the Dallas Veteran’s Administrative Medical Center. He is the founder of the Dallas Area Psychiatric Advance Practice Nurses and Physician Assistant’s Group. He is a Clinically Certified Forensic Counselor and Clinically Certified Domestic Violence Counselor. He has also been a Test Item Writer for the Nurses Credentialing Center’s National Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Examination. He is a diplomate of the American College of Forensic Counselors.
Broc Sanchez is or has been a member of the American Nurses Association, Texas Nurses Association, Psychiatric Nurses Association, North Texas Nurse Practitioner Association, American College of Clinicians, and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
