Jennifer Rabaglia, MD, MSc, FACS
Biosketch
Dr. Rabaglia is a practicing endocrine surgeon and the Chief Quality and Safety Officer (CQSO), Associate Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President of Quality and Safety for Parkland Health and Hospital System, one of the largest, busiest safety net systems in the nation and primary teaching facility for UT Southwestern Medical Center. As CQSO, she oversees a Department of approximately 60 FTEs in 7 functional areas: Regulatory and Accreditation, Patient Safety and Clinical Risk Management, Performance Improvement, Clinical Quality, Infection Prevention, Data Analytics, and Quality and Safety Education. During her 3-year tenure, the Department has undergone a massive restructuring, graduated from a quality and safety related Corporate Integrity Agreement with the US Office of the Inspector General, and has facilitated successful enterprise-wide projects that have dramatically improved patient access to care, safety and outcomes.
Prior to assuming her current role in January of 2017, Dr. Rabaglia was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at UT Southwestern for over 7 years, and served many roles spanning both quality and education including UTSW Surgical Quality Officer, Director of the Surgery Resident Quality Improvement Program, UTSW representative for the Global Comparators International Quality Collaborative, and Senior Medical Director for Population Health at Parkland.
Dr. Rabaglia completed residency at Harvard Medical School/Brigham and Women’s Hospital, followed by the Harvard fellowship in Endocrine Surgery. Amid clinical training, she completed a two-year research fellowship, during which she served as a clinical consultant in the Medical Device Fellowship Program at the US FDA.
