To present some of the major findings in the literature and by my laboratory group regarding the role of the peptide hormone ghrelin in linking eating behavior and mood

1. To describe major features of the ghrelin system, including sites of production and action.
2. To review the literature and our research demonstrating roles for ghrelin in mood-related and eating behaviors induced by psychosocial stress.
3. To describe situations in which plasma ghrelin levels are elevated.
