Carrie Kovarik, Carrie L. Kovarik, MD
Carrie L. Kovarik, MD is a Professor of Dermatology, Dermatopathology, and Infectious Diseases at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Kovarik has a special interest in 1) global and community health, 2) infectious disease related skin conditions, and 3) improving access to health care through innovation and technology, including telemedicine and augmented intelligence. She has created the Penn Dermatology Global Health program, through which she works to provide clinical care and education in underserved communities. Dr. Kovarik has implemented numerous innovative programs with the goal of improving access to care and patient outcomes in underserved communities in the US and globally, using mobile phones, electronic medical records, open source technology, and accessory medical devices. She is now also focusing on developing sustainable and scalable interventions in healthcare that will improve the overall health of our communities.
