Presently is the Chairman Court of Governors of the College of Medicine University of Lagos Nigeria and is a Strategic Health and Development Consultant.
Was born on the 29th day of August 1962 at the Lagos Island Maternity Hospital, Lagos State, Nigeria ..
He completed his primary, secondary and tertiary education in Lagos State.
Received the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos Teaching Hospital in 1986, where he passed out with a Distinction.
He obtained a Certificate in Ethics from the Harvard School of Public Health, Boston USA done in Lagos, a Diploma in HIV/AIDS prevention from the College of Venereal Disease Prevention UK and a Certificate in Institutional Development from the Royal Institute of Public Administration (RIPA), London, UK.
He is an alumnus of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, USA Executive program done in Lagos and the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS, Kuru, Nigeria.
He also has numerous certificates from courses and seminars attended and has received over 100 commendations and awards for public and social service.
He was appointed to serve on the Lagos State Transition Committee on Health by the Governor of Lagos State in 1999 and later onto the board of the Lagos State Football association, where he served as the Chairman of the Health and Medical Committee.
He was a Dental surgeon in private practice until he was appointed in 1999 to serve in the public service as the Pioneer Executive Secretary of the Lagos State HIV/AIDS Foundation and then the founding CEO of the Lagos State AIDS Control Agency (LSACA) in 1999 under the Chairmanship of the Late Professor Olikoye Ransome-Kuti.
He was also the Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on HIV and Related Matters, 1999 - 2007.
He has served on a number of other boards and committees including, the Blood Transfusion Committee, and the Lagos University Teaching Hospital HIV/AIDS Committee. He also co led the Innovation Council for Lagos State in 2011.
He has also served on the board and as advisor to numerous Non Governmental Organizations.
He has headed numerous programmes with partners on behalf of the State, these include Bilateral and Multi lateral programmes with partners such as the World Bank, United Nations Agencies and Local, National and International Organisations.
He was appointed the Permanent Secretary for Health in July 2007, and in January of 2009 he was nominated by the Governor of Lagos State to attend the prestigious National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos.
While at the NIPSS ( National Institute for Policy and strategic studies) he was voted the best presenter at NIPSS by his Senior Executive course 31 colleagues, and was subsequently selected as lead of the presentation team to deliver the annual presentation of SEC 31 at the institutionalized Presidential Parley with the then Late President Musa Yar Adua.
He graduated after a year with high commendations as a Fellow of the National Institute and was awarded the Member of the National Institute, mni, in November 2009.
He returned to the Lagos State Public Service after his Senior Executive Course at the NIPSS (National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies) and was posted as Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Special Duties where he was until his retirement in August 2015.
He now works as a Strategic Health and Development Consultant, and is also the Chairman, Court of Governors of the College of medicine university of Lagos..
His mission is to be part of the thinking and the action that takes Nigeria out of the 19th century into the 21st century, to be a vibrant, safe, fair, well functioning, hope inspiring and good quality of life giving space.
He is convinced that this is a task that can be done. With the right ideas, right actions, commitment, sacrifice and belief on the part of both the leadership and the people he believes we can and indeed we must achieve this visionary task.
His hobbies are Art, Poetry and Problem solving.
He is very happily married to Professor Ibironke Desalu, and they have two children and grand children.
