ANPA Annual Scientific Meeting 2022: Health Care Delivery During Crisis and Conflict (JS2206B)
Overview
This 2-day live, conference is designed for an inter-professional and multidisciplinary audience that are involved with or play a role in health care in the context of diagnosis, prevention, treatment, cure, or mitigation of disease in humans. Immigrant health care professionals; those serving minority populations in the US; and those engaged in global health outreach in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC), particularly sub-Saharan Africa (with particular focus on Nigeria), will find the technical content useful, while benefiting from a unique opportunity to network with members of one of the largest groups of international medical graduate physician networks in the US. While a portion of the program is devoted to the theme on “Health Care Delivery During Crisis and Conflict”, the program is designed to be broad in scope and appeal, encompassing issues and topics affecting all areas of health care, with patient welfare and well-being at its focus. Examples includes cross-cutting topics related to healthcare leadership, healthcare equity, disruptive innovations in healthcare, opioid use disorders, medical ethics, and “hot topics” covering some of the latest biomedical breakthroughs across all the health professions. Such a broad scope is justified by the increasing complexity of modern health and patient care. Participants are those that are typically motivated by a desire to improve the health of individual patients and communities in (a) under-served, typically minority populations across the US, and (b) LMIC, particularly sub-Saharan Africa, where many participants are uniquely positioned to make contributions.
