Pietro Guaraldi

Dr Pietro Guaraldi is an Autonomic Disorder Specialist at the Instituite of Neurological Science of Bologna Italy, where he runs the Autonomic Lab and Clinic.
He received his Medical Degree in 2003 (summa cum laude) at the University of Modena, Italy, discussing a doctorate entitled: "Assessment of the autonomic control of the cardiovascular system in patients with posterior hypothalamus deep brain stimulation" under the mentorship of Prof Pietro Cortelli .
He trained in Internal Medicine and Neurology and completed Neurology residency in 2008 (summa cum laude) at the University of Modena, Italy, discussing a doctorate entitled: "impairment of cardiovascular reflexes in Ross’ syndrome is correlated to the duration of the disease"; under the mentorship of Prof Pietro Cortelli .
In 2007-2008 he obtained fellowship at the Autonomic Unit of the Nation Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (Queen Square), London, UK, under the mentorship of Prof C.J. Mathias.
In 2011 he concluded his PhD in Sleep Medicine at University of Bologna, discussing a doctorate entitled: "Spinal cord injury: assessment of autonomic state-dependent control of cardiovascular system and body core temperature" under the mentorship of Prof Pietro Cortelli .
His research focuses on the autonomic nervous system and its abnormalities in neurological disorders.
