American Autonomic Society 2022 Annual Meeting (JS2211C)
Each year the American Autonomic Society (AAS) brings together a diverse group of clinicians and researchers who are interested in the autonomic nervous system. It offers a valuable opportunity to present new research ideas, share insights and network. Evaluation and treatment of patients with autonomic dysfunction disorders is variable because clinicians are not adequately trained in currently existing approaches to the diagnosis and management of these disorders. In addition, because the field is evolving, there are many presentations of these disorders that are not covered by evidence-based approaches. The 2022 meeting will be held in-person.
Target Audience
This program is specifically designed for Primary Care providers, Neurologists, Nurses, Advanced Practitioners, and Researchers that desire to gain advanced knowledge in diagnosis and management of patients with autonomic dysfunction disorders.
Learning Objectives
- Diagnose and manage neurogenic orthostatic hypotension (nOH), postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), syncope based on current guidelines
- Discuss the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms related to the autonomic nervous system in spinal cord injury, POTS, nOH, vasovagal syncope and multiple system atrophy
- Describe appropriate treatment for autonomic disorders based on current guidelines
- Discuss and identify emerging treatments for autonomic disorders
