Simulation 101 - Faculty Development Course (RP2306A-092722)

September 6, 2022 to September 27, 2022

This Simulation Center asynchronous course is for faculty who would like to learn more about facilitating Simulation, or are new to simulation. The course consists of three components, a Journal/Reading component, online modules, and a two day face to face workshop. The course will span about 3 months, ending with the face to face component. The course is based upon the foundational content developed by the Simulation Faculty Development Committee in 2018.
 

Target Audience

Faculty and healthcare educators who would like to learn more about facilitating Simulation, or are new to simulation.

Learning Objectives

  • Define simulation modalities that are useful in simulation-based education methodologies.
  • Describe the theoretical underpinnings of simulation-based education. 
  • Explain the importance of debriefing/reflective techniques and list techniques for debriefing with good judgement 
  • Describe at least 5 team-behaviors crucial to functional teaming behaviors.
  • Develop and execute a simulated experience with discreet learning objectives and constructive debrief.
