Anu Wadhwa, MBBS, MSc, FASA
Dr. Anupama Wadhwa is a Professor of Anesthesiology and a Certified Professional Coach at University of Texas Southwestern. She also serves as the Director of Faculty Mentoring and the Faculty Peer Coaching Program. She has been a Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Louisville and University of California San Diego before she moved to the University of Texas in December 2020. She is Board Certified in the American Board of Anesthesiology and American Board of Obesity Medicine. Dr. Wadhwa is the Immediate Past President of the” International Society of Perioperative Care of Obese Patients”. She has also served in the role of VP of Education and Secretary for ISPCOP. Her passion is professional development of faculty and strives to provide opportunities so each faculty reaches their full potential.
Dr. Wadhwa is an excellent clinician, educator and researcher. Dr. Wadhwa is a prolific speaker and has spoken at more than 50 national and international conferences. She has multiple high profile publications and actively collaborates with the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons, and European Societies to establish guidelines around Perioperative Care of Patients with Obesity and ERAS.
She enjoys yoga and meditation and is an advocate for physician wellness. She is the Wellness Champion for her department serves on the Wellness committee of the institution. She has completed the course for Physician Wellbeing Director from Stanford University in 2023.
