Kyle Blackburn, Assistant Professor, Department of Neurology
Dr. Blackburn is an assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He graduated from the University Of Kentucky College Of Medicine in 2014. He then went on to complete his neurology residency and neuroimmunology fellowship at UT Southwestern, and joined the faculty in 2020. In his clinical practice, he focuses on the care of patients with rare autoimmune disorders of the central nervous system, including autoimmune encephalitis, stiff person syndrome and paraneoplastic disorders. He aims to advance therapeutic options and develop new care models for patients with rare autoimmune disorders. During fellowship, he was an investigator on an investigator-initiated clinical trial for autoimmune encephalitis, which was among the first trials for the disease. He now serves as principal investigator for multi-center trials in autoimmune encephalitis and rare demyelinating disorders.
