Sheryl Frierson, MD
Dr. Sheryl Frierson serves as the medical director at the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders. As a developmental pediatrician, she holds board certifications in General Pediatrics and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities. Prior to her NDD fellowship, Dr. Frierson spent seven years in general pediatrics, gaining firsthand experience with developmental disorders in the primary care setting. Post-fellowship, her focus has been split between providing direct care to children with learning disorders and conducting clinical research on the neurobiology of reading disorders. In her present role, she dedicates herself to the care of children with learning disorders, overseeing a multi-disciplinary team that carries out diagnostic evaluations, creates effective interventions, and engages with the community to ensure that research-proven interventions are accessible.
