Abigail Kissel, MD, FAAP
Abigail M. Kissel, MD, FAAP is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Academic Medicine Division at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO as well as the Medical Director of Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics. She did her undergraduate training at Northwestern University and her Medical School training at Baylor College of Medicine before completing a Pediatric residency, chief residency, and fellowship in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics at UTSouthwestern.
During her time at UTSouthwestern she served as an attending and resident supervisor in Adolescent and Young Adult medicine, Complex Care Medical Services, and at a Federally Qualified Health Center, Los Barrios Unidos. After graduating fellowship, she was fortunate to serve as an attending in UTSouthwestern's Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics clinic while also working at Scottish Rite's Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders prior to her move back to St. Louis to continue her career there.
She remains interested in multiple facets of, influences on, stressors for, and interventions supporting early childhood education, child development, and neurodivergence while maintaining a commitment to educating the next generation of Pediatric residents on these topics and continuing efforts to integrate her practice with the community at large. She is a graduate of the Children’s Defense Fund Fellowship, the founder of the CORP (Community Organization Resident Practicum) elective at UTSW, and a recognized Epic Physician Builder. At home, she is a mother to Henry (8) and Benny (6), and an avid DIYer.
