Staci Shearin, PT, PhD, NCS, GCS
Dr. Staci Shearin, PT, PhD is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. She is a board-certified clinical specialist in both Neurology and Geriatrics through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). In her current role as Associate Professor in the School of Health Professions, she divides her time between education, research and clinical treatment. Dr. Shearin instructs students in multiple courses throughout the neurologic DPT curriculum including other classes related to assistive technology, patient mobility skills and wellness. Her clinical interests include the rehabilitation of individuals with neurologic gait and balance dysfunction. She currently sees patients as a clinician in the outpatient neurologic setting. Dr. Shearin’s research agenda is focused on improving mobility for people living with neurologic impairments and she is currently completing funded work examining freezing of gait and muscle metabolism in Parkinson.
