Michael Obeng, Director, MiKO Plastic Surgery
Dr. Michael K. Obeng, also known as The Surgeon’s Surgeon, is a Harvard-trained, board-certified plastic surgeon who is renowned for his humanitarian efforts and global health initiatives. He leads MiKO Plastic Surgery in Beverly Hills and serves as the President & CEO of Global Health Solution, a consulting firm dedicated to improving health outcomes in developing countries.
As the Founder and CEO of RESTORE Worldwide, Inc.: The Foundation for Reconstructive Surgery, Dr. Obeng has performed over 1500 surgeries free of charge in 7 countries across 3 continents, with a total value exceeding $75 million USD. In August, he, along with partners Siemens and Sushen Medicamentos, broke ground on a groundbreaking $50 million WHO-GMP certified pharmaceutical plant in Ghana, the first of its kind in the sub-region.
Dr. Obeng is a pioneer in plastic surgery, having successfully reattached a limb and performed rib removal procedures for waist refinement. His expertise lies in cosmetic surgery and complex reconstruction, earning him the nickname "The Surgeon’s Surgeon" among his peers.
Recognized twice as one of "America’s Top Plastic Surgeons" by the Consumer’s Research Council of America, Dr. Obeng has received numerous prestigious awards, including The United States President’s Volunteer Service Lifetime Achievement Award, NAACP Humanitarian Award, and Ebony Magazine 75th Anniversary Power 100 Honoree. He was also appointed as a UN Peace Ambassador.
The Ghanaian-born surgeon gained global acclaim in 2021 for his innovative solution in removing Gorilla Glue from the hair of internet sensation Tessica Brown using bio-friendly chemicals he developed in less than 48 hours.
Known as the "Gentle Giant," Dr. Obeng is an alumnus of Prempeh College, Midwestern State University, The University of Texas Medical Branch, and Harvard University. He is a father of 6 and resides in Bel Air, California.
