Nelson A. Alawode, M.D. MBA: He finished is undergraduate studies in Premedicine at University of Portland, Oregon in 1976, Magna Cum Laude; He went to Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and got his Medical degree in 1981. He finished his Residency Program in OB/GYN at University of Maryland in Baltimore in 1985. He started his Solo practice in OB/GYN in 1987 up till now. And because of his interest in Sickle cell disease, he co-authored an article in 1982 with his Professors---Isovolumetric exchange transfusion in Pregnant women with Sickle cell disease. He is also interested in Adolescents, hence the birth of the non-profit organization about 20years ago---Abstinenceteenchoice.org (Rebranded Health Literacy). In 2017, he finished his MBA program in Healthcare Management at Johns Hopkins Carey Business School in Baltimore.
