Samuel Otene, MBBS | FMCR
Dr Otene, Samuel Anaja is a Medical Doctor; a Consultant Radiation and
Clinical Oncologist. He is 50 years old. He obtained his Medical Degree in
Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and a Postgraduate Fellowship (Radiation and
Clinical Oncology) of the National Postgraduate Medical College in May, 2012.
He is currently a Senior Lecturer at Federal University of Health Sciences,
Otukpo (FUHSO) and a Visiting Consultant to both Benue State University
Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) and Fedral Medical Centre (FMC), Makurdi, Benue
State; before that, he was a Chief Consultant and Head of Department, Oncology
and Palliative Care Department at FMC, Makurdi. He was also the Lead
Consultant Oncologist to Asi Ukpo Comprehensive Cancer Centre (AUCCC),
Calabar, Cross River State.
He is currently the Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA)’s
National Cancer Committee as well as Past Chairman of the Benue State Branch
of NMA. He is a Life member of the Nigerian Cancer Society (NCS), as well as a
Past National President of the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of Nigeria
(HPCAN). He has won multiple Awards, both at State, National and International levels.
