Lorraine Bautista, MD MPH
Lorraine Bautista, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
Dr. Bautista earned her medical degree at Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in Mexico. She completed a residency in pediatrics at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso with a distinction in border health and received advanced training in neonatal-perinatal medicine through a fellowship at UT Southwestern. She also holds a master’s degree in public health from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in neonatal-perinatal Medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2021.
Dr. Bautista serves on several UT Southwestern committees, including as chair of and faculty mentor for the NICU Fellowship QI Education Committee, faculty mentor for the NICU Fellowship Wellness Committee, and member of Parkland Memorial Hospital’s Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome Task Force Committee.
Her current research and projects are focused on Neonatal Opioid Withdrawal Syndrome, Quality Improvement and fellow education.
