Jodi Jones, MD, FACEP

Jodi Jones, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center and joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2008. She serves as Director of the Section of Emergency Medicine Ultrasound, Program Director of the Clinical Ultrasound Fellowship, and Associate Director of Emergency Ultrasound Residency Education. She also holds a leadership role as Division Chief of Emergency Ultrasound and Simulation.
Dr. Jones earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Johns Hopkins University and her Doctor of Medicine from Temple University School of Medicine. She completed her internship at Temple University Hospital, followed by residency training at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center, and a fellowship in Emergency Ultrasound at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
Board-certified in Emergency Medicine and Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasonography by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, Dr. Jones has developed and directed multiple undergraduate and graduate medical education curricula and is deeply engaged in teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and interdisciplinary providers. She has delivered numerous invited lectures at regional, national, and international conferences and has co-led fellow teaching sessions at the Society of Clinical Ultrasound Fellowships annual conference for several years.
Her academic interests focus on expanding ultrasound education, including the development of longitudinal POCUS curricula in undergraduate medical education. She is also actively involved in mentorship, faculty development, and fostering an equitable and supportive environment within emergency medicine.
