Developing a Value-Based Approach to Primary Care (RP1802J)
This activity will provide Primary Care Physicians with methods by which a value-based approach to primary care may be developed, to address commonly encountered conditions in practice. This activity will also review processes for measuring and reporting quality of patient care. It will also entail an overview of Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) and the process of setting up and maintaining this system.
Target Audience
This course is designed for primary care physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners, who are seeking strategies by which the quality of care delivery may be effectively measured and addressed, within a primary care setting.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Describe two major aspects of developing and sustaining effective Accountable Care Organization operations
- Employ the use of valid metrics in primary care to assess the effectiveness of practice performance
- Discuss ethical considerations for improving efficiency of clinical practice
