Brain Summit 2020 Virtual Symposium: Current Trends in Neurology (RP2010B)
PURPOSE AND CONTENT
This CME activity, aimed at neuroscience professionals - including physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses and therapists – will explore latest advances and current trends in neurology and neurotherapeutics. Presentations will address the most current information which may be consolidated for physicians and other healthcare professionals in advancing proper diagnosis and best treatment modalities.
Target Audience
Physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, physical therapists, allied health professionals, and other health care professionals who specialize in implementing the latest in neurotherapeutics as they care for neurology patients.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants shall be able to:
- Examine MOG antibody mediated disease and current treatment approaches
- Explore the rationale and procedure behind MRgFUS, and recognize appropriate candidates which may be referred for this procedure
- Define the diversity of mechanisms leading to POTS and more patient-specific therapies at different points in their natural history
- Discuss the benefits of utilizing magnetoencephalography in the pre surgical evaluation of patients with epilepsy
- Employ advanced treatment strategies for migraine prophylaxis and abortion
- Identify new imaging techniques and treatment options has led to changes in current diagnosis and management of intracranial cerebral atherosclerosis
- Investigate current clinical trials in neurology at UTSW that involve treatment options available for patient participation and biomarker studies to better understand disease pathophysiology
