Colorectal cancer often goes undetected until it is more advanced, making timely and highly effective treatment a necessity for any patient with the disease. Multidisciplinary teams at UT Southwestern include gastroenterologists; medical, radiation, and surgical oncologists; and support staff who focus solely on colorectal cancer. Surgery is often the first-line treatment for colorectal cancer, and today’s techniques allow us to offer surgery that is much less invasive than the colostomy of the past. Depending on the severity of the cancer, our team might suggest chemotherapy, radiation, or both in addition to surgery. In this one-hour webinar, you will learn from experts in surgery, medical oncology, and radiation oncology via presentations and case-based discussion. Specialists in surgery, medical oncology and radiation oncology as well as other physicians, healthcare providers and patient advocates interested in learning interdisciplinary care of colorectal cancer should attend.
