PULSAR Consortium at ASTRO Conference 2026 (RP2609D)
UT Southwestern Medical Center's Department of Radiation Oncology is committed to advancing the field of radiation oncology through innovation in adaptive radiation therapy, unlocking new opportunities for truly personalized cancer treatment. The PULSAR Consortium highlights the latest advancements in Personalized Ultra-Fractionated Stereotactic Adaptive Radiotherapy (PULSAR), an innovative treatment approach designed to deliver highly individualized radiation therapy that extends beyond conventional fractionated treatment. Participants will explore the science, technology, and clinical implementation of PULSAR through didactic presentations by national and international experts, clinical case discussions, and emerging research. This live educational activity is designed to equip multidisciplinary oncology professionals (clinicians, physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, and other members of the radiation oncology team) with the knowledge and practical strategies needed to safely integrate adaptive radiotherapy into clinical practice and improve patient outcomes.
Target Audience
Multidisciplinary radiation oncology professionals, including:
- physicians
- physicists
- dosimetrists
- radiation therapists
- other clinicians
- other members of the radiation oncology team
Learning Objectives
- Describe the principles and clinical rationale of PULSAR;
- Evaluate current clinical evidence supporting adaptive radiotherapy and personalized treatment strategies;
- Identify appropriate patient populations who may benefit from PULSAR and adaptive treatment approaches;
- Apply evidence-based principles for incorporating adaptive imaging, treatment planning, and workflow optimization into clinical practice;
- Recognize technological, operational, and multidisciplinary considerations that influence successful implementation of PULSAR;
- Collaborate effectively across the multidisciplinary care team to safely deliver personalized adaptive radiation therapy.
