At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
1. Understand how the parkinsonian state is associated with excess neural synchronization.
2. Explain how antiparkinsonian therapies might disrupt this synchronization.
3. Review recent developments in totally implantable bidirectional neural interfaces in movement disorders.
