Overview

This full-day seminar is tailored for pediatricians, family practitioners, physician assistants, advance practice nurses and allied health professionals. Didactic lectures and case presentations will review common musculoskeletal pathologies with an emphasis on virtual demonstrations for preforming a pediatric orthopedic examination and when a referral to an orthopedic specialist is indicated. These new skills will enable the practitioner to perform a detailed musculoskeletal examination and combine that information with additional musculoskeletal learning to diagnose and either treat or refer the patients to a qualified pediatric orthopedist.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify and apply best practices in diagnosing and examining children with hip dysplasia through accurate assessment techniques and diagnostic tools.
  2. Identify and apply best practices in diagnosing and examining children with scoliosis through accurate assessment techniques and diagnostic tools.
  3. Identify and apply best practices in diagnosing and examining children with club feet and flat feet through accurate assessment techniques and diagnostic tools.
  4. Identify and apply best practices in diagnosing and examining children with back pain through accurate assessment techniques and diagnostic tools.
  5. Identify and apply best practices in diagnosing and examining children with sports injuries of the shoulder, hip, and knee through accurate assessment techniques and diagnostic tools.
