This series of classes is designed for advanced level mental health practitioners at a post-licensure level. The 6-hour Saturday classes will present the latest information in psychiatric treatment, coupled with hands-on practice and direct observation. All classes will be taught by expert faculty to a maximum of 25 participants who wish to advance their professional practice through the acquisition and mastery of very specific skills. Participants can register for and attend a single class, or the entire series.

Mindfulness in Practice for Clinicians

Instructors will use an experiential learning framework to directly learn how to teach and practice mindfulness in clinical settings.

 

Target Audience

This series is designed for advanced (typically postdoctoral) level mental health scientists.

Learning Objectives

  1. Discuss the scientific and evidence base of studies of mindfulness based interventions        
  2. Identify mental health conditions suitable for mindfulness interventions
  3. Apply and model the mindfulness practices essential to clinical practice.

Parking Instructions: Please come to the North Campus Building located at 6000 Harry Hines Blvd.  The Faculty parking garage will be opened by 6 am; please look for the  stanchion sign marked “Psychiatry Masterclass Parking” with an arrow.  Please park anywhere in the Faculty Garage.  Once in the building, come up to the 2nd floor by the stairs or elevators.  There will be stanchion signs inside the building directing you.  The room is NB2.100A.
