Simulation 101-Two-Day Workshop (4th Cohort)
The Simulation Center Faculty Development Committee has developed an asynchronous course for faculty who would like to learn more about facilitating Simulation, or are new to simulation. The course consist of three components, a Journal/Reading component, online modules, and a two-day face to face workshop. The course will span about 3 months, ending with the face to face component.
The target audience for this program includes UT Southwestern physician faculty, fellows and residents who would like to learn more about facilitating Simulation, or are new to simulation
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Define simulation modalities that are useful in simulation-based education methodologies,
- Describe the theoretical underpinnings of simulation-based education,
- Explain the importance of debriefing/reflective techniques and list techniques for debriefing with good judgement
- Describe at least 5 team-behaviors crucial to functional teaming behaviors and
- Develop and execute a simulated experience with discreet learning objectives and constructive debrief
