[2:15pm - 3:15pm] Session 1: I Want to Use the Sim Center: Where Do I Start? (10 participants max)
Interested in developing and implementing simulation at UTSW? Perhaps you have an idea, but do not know how to start. Then this workshop is for you! During this workshop we will provide attendees with an in-depth review of how to develop and implement simulations at UT Southwestern Simulation Center. During the workshop, attendees will learn about the different modalities the Center has to offer, how to match objectives to the different modalities, and simulate a walk through the formal process of developing simulations.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:
- Understand the different types of simulation modalities offered at the Simulation Center and how to match an objective to right modality. This includes understanding when to use the following modalities:
- Standardized Patients
- High Fidelity Scenarios
- Procedural trainers
- Virtual Reality
- Understand how to develop and implement a simulation at UTSW.
- Demonstrate through experiential learning the process by developing a simulation, as learners will get the chance to walk through the process during the workshop using a simulation they are interested in developing.
