This symposium is a clinical education experience for members of multidisciplinary teams who care for patients with rare, complex neuromuscular diseases including hereditary muscular dystrophies, motor neuron diseases, neuroimmunologic neuropathies and rare genetic disorders of muscle and nerve. Case presentations will include physical diagnosis and discussion of management and new therapies by participating experts. All discussions involve active participation by attendees. The educational format for this activity includes didactic lectures with in depth Q&A, panel discussions, and PowerPoint Presentations. The content of the program is identified and developed through a Call for Abstracts process. The 2024 keynote speaker will present on the designing clinical trials and organizing clinical trial networks specifically in the area of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.

Target Audience
This course content is specifically designed for Primary Care providers, Neurologists, Nurses, Advanced Practitioners, and Researchers that desire to gain advanced knowledge in diagnosis and management of patients with neuromuscular disease.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss important aspects of ALS trial design
- Compare and contrast current and traditional strategies for ALS Drug development
- Discuss recent advances in the genetic diagnosis of neuromuscular disorders
- Discuss the latest developments in the treatment of neuromuscular disorders (to include gene replacement therapy).
- Identify and apply current pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments in motor neuron diseases including gene replacement therapy.
- Recognize the clinical applications of testing in neuromuscular disorders (to include histopathology)
