The Radiology Trainee Research Day provides an avenue for the current trainees in the Department of Radiology and elsewhere working on Radiology related projects to share, present, and discuss their current ongoing projects. This provides the current state-of-the-art research and development activities to educate the physicians such that they can be incorporated into clinical practice as needed. These presentations will cover a variety of basic science topics, a number of prospective, retrospective, and translation studies carried out in the Department of Radiology, which provide concrete examples of experimental design, statistical analysis and hypothesis driven research. The trainees' talks and electronic poster presentations will be followed by a keynote lecture from an invited external speaker, Dr. Clare M. C. Tempany-Afdhal MB BA O BCh, Ferenc A. Jolesz MD Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School, Vice-Chair of Radiology Research at Brigham Health and Director of the Ferenc Jolesz National Center for Image-Guided Therapy. The title of the lecture is: "Image Guided Therapy: A personal perspective and update from the National Center". The keynote lecture will address: new advances in image guided Therapy, the role of Prostate cancer imaging in interventions, and insights into a career in clinical translational research.
