185 Hospitalist Clinical Pearls 2018

Dallas, TX US
January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018

In hospitalist medicine, a large part of clinical practice is caring for patients with a terminal illness.  Yet, a small portion of the workforce has received formalized training in how to communicate with patients and their families on end-of-life care and important healthcare decisions.  Further few physicians understand the lasting implications of grief for a deceased patient’s family.  In today’s lecture, we will learn the importance of a framework when discussing advanced care planning, including sample verbiage, and the complications of grief and bereavement.
