Eradicating the precipitating etiologies has long been at the forefront of public health, however, we continue to fall short of our nation’s health goals. A proposed strategy to better address these disparities is to establish a medical workforce that ethnically reflects the patient population which it serves. To this end, several initiatives have sought to achieve this with minimal overall progress.
