Purpose and OverviewThe Systolic Blood Pressure Intervention Trial (SPRINT; ClinicalTrials.gov, NCT01206062) was stopped early because of significantly lower risk of cardiovascular disease in participants randomized to a systolic blood pressure (SBP) target of 120 mmHg (intensive) than in those randomized to 140 mmHg (standard). The cardiovascular outcome benefit was also identified in participants aged 75 and older assigned to the intensive arm—34% lower —in addition to 33% lower all-cause mortality at 3.14 years of follow-up.

The primary focus of this course is to assist oncology professionals in academic, community, and private centers with the proper implementation of a viable and effective Surface Guided Radiation Therapy (SGRT) treatment practice. Emphasis is placed on the utilization of SGRT during treatments on linear accelerators and clearance mapping for treatment planning. The course presents an overview and rationale for the role of SGRT in these areas (didactic lectures) and practical experience through clinical observation/hands-on skill demonstration.
