AAP TECaN National Advocacy Campaign: 'Bereavement of NICU families' (EM622-050422)

This 10-Part virtual/on-demand webinar series will bring together experts from across the nation to discuss topics related to NICU family mental health and wellness.  Parental mental health needs are extremely prevalent in the NICU. Despite the high needs and impact on child and family outcomes, most NICUs do not currently have a standard of care to address familial mental health. Our purpose through the National AAP TECaN Carousel Care Campaign is to educate NICU providers across all scopes of practice on how to identify and address family wellness needs. This session will focus on the needs of parents who leave the NICU without their child. During this webinar, we will review how the experience of child loss in the NICU affects families and how healthcare providers can be most effective in providing compassionate, supportive care to the entire family.
